Presidents CornerDear GBA Members:First, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the best for a healthy and prosperous 2013! As we kick off 2013, I also want to welcome all the new members and recently-elected directors to the Georgetown Business Association. We are in the process of planning 2013 GBA initiatives, and there are a number of great ideas, energy and commitment from our members. Over the next few weeks, we will be establishing our working committees for 2013, and we will provide you with more details in the coming month. In the near term, there are several key initiatives that the GBA is involved with, including parking and commercial zoning. We will continue to keep you apprised of upcoming meetings and opportunities to provide input on these issues. We are also starting to plan for other forums in the coming year, building on the successful Small Business and Economic Forums that were held in 2012. We are also working on our line-up of networking events this year, kicking off with our January reception at The George Town Club next Wednesday, January 16, which is always a terrific event. We hope to see you there. As we start 2013, we look forward to the opportunities ahead and continuing to build on the momentum from 2012.
